Jennifer Hudson will portray Aretha Franklin in the upcoming biopic Respect, and the first teaser trailer has arrived.
Naturally, the clip features Hudson performing Franklin's most iconic song and the film's namesake, "Respect" — and the former American Idol star does a stunning impression of the Queen of Soul.
The Liesl Tommy-directed film is expected to hit theatres in 2020. It also stars Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess and Mary J. Blige.
