Remember when we were all living through the dumpster fire known as 2020, and we were all so hopeful about 2021? Well, as if our dreams of a great year weren't already going up in flames, our buddy Finn Wolfhard is now telling us we're not getting any new Stranger Things this year. We know, we know — First World problems, right?
"Season 4…. It should be out sometime next year, hopefully," Wolfhard said during a recent video chat with a fan about the hit Netflix series.
And with those few words from Finn, our dreams of a truly great 2021 have died.

That being said, the news of a 2022 drop for Stranger Things Season 4 isn't all that surprising. Due to the raging pandemic, basically everything in life is being delayed these days, and Netflix and creators the Duffer Brothers have given zero hints about any sort of release date for the upcoming season.
When new episodes do finally arrive, though, Wolfhard did tell us to be ready for the darkest season yet.
"Every season it gets darker. Really, I will say with Season 3 I was like, this is the darkest season that there'll ever be, like the exploding rats and everything," he said earlier this year. "But really, Season 4 so far, it's the darkest season there's ever been.
"Every year, it gets amped up. Every year it gets funnier and darker and sadder, and everything. Every year, they amp it up."
So yeah, get ready for them to amp it up... in 2022.
