Harry Styles Joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a Major Way

He's reportedly been cast in the film series as Thanos's brother

At this point, there's nothing the MCU could do to surprise us — except maybe turning the lights up on casting former One Direction member Harry Styles in a starring role.

Yes, you read that correctly: the musician, actor and women's pleasure advocate has reportedly joined the film series as Thanos's brother, Eros (a.k.a. Starfox).

Variety journalist Matt Donnelly broke the news, tweeting from last night's world premiere of Eternals.

Who is this Eros-slash-Starfox character, you ask? Fans of the Marvel comics will be familiar with him as the youngest son of eternals A'lars and Sui-Lan, described as a "fun-loving, carefree womanizer," motivated to seek out "pleasure and recreation on humannoid-inhabited worlds." Okay, this doesn't sound too far out of Styles' wheelhouse.

The IMDb page for the musician — who made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk in 2017 — has since been updated to reflect this larger-than-life new project. He's also set to appear in Olivia Wilde's Don't Worry Darling (due for release in September 2022), as well as My Policeman with Emma Corrin.

Eternals is in theatres everywhere on November 5, which will give us mere mortals our first peek of Styles on the big screen with its end credits. See some of Twitter's reactions to the casting rumour below.
