Constance Wu Criticizes Casey Affleck Oscar Nom in Light of Sexual Harassment Allegations

The people involved with ABC's hit sitcom Fresh Off the Boat do not simply sit by and let injustice unfold without commenting on it. Earlier this month, the show's creator Eddie Huang blasted Steve Harvey or making racist Asian jokes. Now, the show's star Constance Wu has spoken out about Casey Affleck's Oscar nomination.

Affleck has been heaped with praise for his role in Manchester by the Sea, and he's a shoo-in to take home the golden statue. However, while he's been basking in the spotlight, he's also had some sexual harassment allegations resurface.

While filming I'm Not Here in 2010, Affleck allegedly intimidated and sexually harassed two young female employees. He has recently settled the cases out of court.

In a Twitter spree, Wu acknowledged that she was advised not to speak out about Affleck's nomination, but she did so anyway. Read her impassioned comments below.

It's amazing to see someone use their platform to speak out on an issue regardless of the consequence, and even more amazing that Wu hasn't deleted the tweets.
