It basically goes without saying that everything is cancelled right now, and this now includes the release of Jordan Peele's Candyman.

While the the Nia DaCosta-directed "spiritual sequel" was set to arrive on June 12, the anticipated film will now hit theatres on September 25 — if we're lucky, at least.

This adds to an incredibly long list of film and music events being delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. You can follow Exclaim!'s list of Canadian music and film events affected by coronavirus.

As previously reported, Candyman follows the 1992 horror classic, with Tony Todd returning as the film's titular character. He's joined by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen) and Teyonah Parris.
