It's been almost exactly a year since Zoon released the 2023 album Bekka Ma'iingan, earning a 9/10 review here at Exclaim! and a spot on our year-end list. Now, musician Daniel Monkman has shed light on the follow-up, which they are currently working on with some notable collaborators.

On Instagram on Saturday (April 20), Monkman shared a photo gallery from the Tragically Hip's Bathouse Recording Studio in Bath, ON, where they spent the past week working on Zoon's upcoming third album.

Included in the images are Lee Ranaldo (of Sonic Youth), plus three Broken Social Scene members: Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning and Charles Spearin. Longtime Zoon collaborator Andrew McLeod (Sunnsetter) rounds out the backing band, while Nyles Spencer is the engineer.

There's no word on when the new album will arrive or what exactly it will sound like. In the meantime, the promotional tour for Bekka Ma'iingan continues with dates in Ireland and the UK in July.
