Zedd & Kesha

"True Colors"

While Kesha has been involved in a serious court battle with Dr. Luke in an attempt to be freed from her recording contract, the pop star has been able to release some music to the masses. A new version of Russian-born EDM figure Zedd's "True Colors" has popped up with vocals from the singer.

The song ebbs and flows, beginning with low-key synth tones before ushering in rumbling percussion and various symphonic elements. Considering Kesha's recent troubles, her studio-distorted delivery of lines like "I won't apologize for the fire in my eyes" shine with new meaning.

While Kesha's case has suggested she's been forced to work with Dr. Luke's Kemosabe label, this outside project is, according to Zedd, on the level.
