Last month, Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) revealed plans to release the debut album from his and Ferrari Sheppard's Dec. 99th project. The self-titled album was originally slated to land on December 9, but it's just arrived today (December 21).
The nine-track album is currently available as a Tidal exclusive; subscribers can stream the entire LP down below. Non-Tidal users can still get an additional sampling of the new material by listening to album cut "Blade in the Pocket."
As previously reported, December 99th was recorded over the course of last year, while Bey was waiting to be cleared to leave South Africa. He was finally cleared of charges and allowed to exit the country last month.
Bey recently confirmed plans to retire from music, but will release another pair of albums first — a solo album titled Negus in Natural Person and a project with Mannie Fresh called As Promised.
Right now, check out Dec. 99th's latest offerings below.
