Rapper Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) has had a run-in with the law. While attempting to leave South Africa, he was arrested for failing to present the correct documents.

As the Associated Press reports [via Spin], Bey showed officials a "world passport," which Department of Home Affairs spokesman Mayihlome Tshwete explained is not really a thing.

As such, the 42-year-old hip-hop star and actor now has 14 days to leave the country — an ironic ruling since that's all he was trying to do to begin with.

In addition, Bey will be banned from South Africa for five years, though he could appeal the ban if he wants. Some reports suggest he's been living in Cape Town since 2013, despite his visitor's permit expiring in 2014.
