Water from Your Eyes are following up last year's excellent Everyone's Crushed with a covers EP. Arriving Friday (July 12) via Matador, MP3 Player 1 will feature their renditions of Adele, Chumbawumba, Al Green and Third Eye Blind.
The covers were recorded around the same time as Everyone's Crushed, and act as an almost follow-up to the band's covers LP Somebody Else's Songs. Today, the band have shared their take on Chumbawumba's "The Good Ship Lifestyle."
"Chumbawamba is an obvious favourite of ours, but it is between Adele in the style of the Cure and Al Green as the most left-field covers we could have chosen," the band said via press release. "We think it's funny and good, but ultimately that will be left to the listeners to decide for themselves."
Water from Your Eyes crossed into Canada this winter while opening for Squid. Instrumentalist Nate Amos just released his solo LP, Box for Buddy, Box for Star under the moniker This Is Lorelei last month.
