John Frusciante Sr. is a Julliard-trained concert pianist

Music apparently runs in the family: John Frusciante's dad is a trained pianist who recently had a jam session with his son's bandmate Flea.

A video posted on the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Instagram shows Flea and John Frusciante Sr. playing together, with Flea on trump and the elder Frusciante on piano.

A 2012 article by the Sun Sentinel notes that Frusciante Sr. was a Julliard-trained concert pianist before going on to a career as a judge in Florida.

Clearly, he's kept up his musical chops: in his jam with Flea, Frusciante is the one calling the shots, as he counts out the rhythm and instructs Flea when to come in. Maybe they could get together with Chad Smith's daughter, singer-songwriter Ava Maybee, and make this a three-generation jam?
