Just a day after YouTube announced users would be able to create AI-generated songs with John Legend's voice, the R&B stalwart gave them a glimpse of what they'd be getting by covering "Snooze" by SZA.
In a video shared to Instagram today by food influencer Twaydabae, Legend picks a card out of a bowl at the behest of his wife Chrissy Teigen and announces that he'd treat the guests to an impromptu performance of SZA's smash hit from SOS.
After a signature Legend chuckle, the video cuts to the EGOT winner sitting at a piano in a cable-knit sweater (we get it, you're a dad) as he launches into the performance.
Comments on both TikTok and Instagram alike are praising the cover and Legend's raw, unedited vocals, with some even noting his performance lent shades of gospel to the original R&B track — although the former choir boy might just have a pastor's voice.
