Fresh off their Bee Gees tribute, Foo Fighters have now paid homage to another musical legend in late ZZ Top member Dusty Hill, who passed away this week aged 72.
News of Hill's death broke the same day the Foos were set to perform at the Andrew J. Brady ICON Music Center in Cincinnati, OH, and Dave Grohl and co. made sure to honour the Texas trio and their late, longtime member by working two ZZ Top teases into their setlist.
Fan-shot footage from the July 28 show captures the Foos playing through a bit of "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers" from ZZ Top's revered 1973 album Tres Hombres, ahead of working in the recognizable riff of "La Grange" from that same LP.
It was also pointed out that drummer Taylor Hawkins was sporting a tank top with the words "Dusty RIP." You can find his tribute clothing and footage of the musical memorial below.
Hill died in his sleep at his home in Houston, though a cause of death was not revealed. He was 72.
While ZZ Top canceled a July 28 performance in South Carolina following Hill's passing, the band have said it was their late bassist's wish to keep the show on the road.
