Waingro Conquer 'Mt. Hood' for New LP, Premiere "Orion"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 24, 2015

Vancouver punk and boogie crushers Waingro are ready to mash us in the face again, with another LP release due to drop this fall. Titled Mt. Hood, the band's latest record will be ready to, well, mount your turntables November 13.

The 11-song sophomore effort follows the band's 2014 self-titled debut LP, which Exclaim! had described as "a reliable source of West Coast heaviness" akin to Bison and Baptists. The new album was tracked at Vancouver's Rain City Recorders with producer Jesse Gander (White Lung, Japandroids).

Waingro will bring the heat to Vancouver skateboard store Anti-Social for a record release party on November 13. The night will also feature a reunion performance from Baptist singer Andre Drury's Depressing, marking their first show in two years, and Blunt Object.

Ahead of Mt. Hood's arrival, the band are streaming its mythological hot rocker "Orion." You'll find that tune, as well as the album's full tracklisting, down below.
