Vancouver punk and indie imprint Big Smoke Records is celebrating its first birthday later this month, and has delivered an early present ahead of the big bash with a sampler showcasing their top talent. The mix is available now as a pay-what-you-want download.
Lower Mainland trio Sightlines recently announced that they had signed to Big Smoke/Alarum to deliver their debut LP, North. It's being teased in the sampler by the softly sung but sonically crunchy "Hospital."
Elsewhere, you've got tracks from math-minded instro emo crew Zoo Strategies, post hardcore outfit Seven Nines and Tens, atmospheric indie dudes Altona and more.
