USA Out of Vietnam Reissue Debut LP Through New Damage

Sludgey Montreal post-rock unit USA Out of Vietnam's debut album Crashing Diseases and Incurable Airplanes was issued back in 2012, but the group have announced they will be delivering reissuing the set later this spring through new Canadian label home New Damage Records.

The re-release arrives in Canada June 24, while an overseas release via Aurora Borealis hits stores May 5.

The album was recorded at Montreal's Hotel2Tango studios with producer Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor), with only one of the five epic tracks coming in under 10 minutes. The set's "psychedelic epics" are informed by black metal and dream pop, and are said to string together "heavy drones, vocoder vocals, distorted guitars, vintage synths, pummeling drums and noise outbursts with brass sections, spoken word, angelic choir vocals, and lush string sections."

In addition to the ranks of USA Out of Vietnam, Crashing Diseases and Incurable Airplanes features guest appearances from 15 musicians, one of which being Patrick Watson, who contributed vocal loops to a pair of tracks.

You can check out the recently delivered short film supporting the set's "Leg of Lamb" beneath the tracklisting info.
