Band of Horses Lose Both Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds

BY Sarah MurphyPublished May 3, 2017

Band of Horses released their latest LP Why Are You OK last year, but it seems not all was okay within the group itself. Guitarist Tyler Ramsey and bassist Bill Reynolds have both announced their departures from the band.

They shared the news on their respective personal social media accounts, each leaving the indie rock outfit after 10 years. Ramsey and Reynolds both joined the band in 2007 after the release of Cease to Begin, and played on subsequent albums Infinite ArmsMirage Rock and Why Are You OK.

Ramsey revealed the news on Instagram, fondly recalling: "We certainly had some good times and I'm sure I will miss the beautifully dysfunctional family we became." He also revealed that he would be releasing and touring a record of his own later this year.

Reynolds, meanwhile, took to Facebook to announce his departure. "Thank you for all the support and encouragement, I am very grateful to have been a part of such an amazing band," he wrote. He continued to say that he will be "moving on to pursue other things," including producing work, photography and maybe even touring again in the future.

Remaining members Ben Bridwell, Ryan Monroe and Creighton Barrett have yet to comment on the lineup change.
