Band of Horses Detail 'Why Are You OK,' Premiere "In a Drawer"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 6, 2016

Band of Horses recently confirmed the arrival of a new album titled Why Are You OK. At the time, they'd announced somewhat ambiguously that the record would arrive next month, and now they've let us know that it officially leaves the stable on June 10.

As previously reported, Why Are You OK is the group's first full-length release since 2012's Mirage Rock. The new set features 12 tracks, which were recorded in Stinson Beach, CA, and Woodstock, NY, with producer/Grandaddy leader Jason Lytle.

Last month, Band of Horses let loose the record's first single, "Casual Party." It's now been revealed that the act will be giving the song its television debut on May 18 when they appear on The Late Show with Steven Colbert.

Additionally, a new tune called "In a Drawer" went up on streaming services today (May 6). A synth-touched rock piece that finds Ben Bridwell singing about some time spent on a bear skin rug, it also features contributions from Dinosaur Jr.'s J. Mascis, Sera Cahoone and Jenn Champion.
