Toronto's renowned DIY Long Winter Music and Arts Festival has gone international in partnership with Paris' Collectif MU for Together Apart — a two-day conference series facilitating cross-border collaboration and exchange alongside live music and art exhibitions.
The first-ever festival and conference dedication to connecting DIY communities internationally takes place this November 26 and 27, with two nights of multi-venue live music and art at Toronto's St. Anne's church followed by back-to-back DJ sets in both Toronto and Paris at La Station - Gare des Mines (and streaming online).
Together Apart features local performances from the likes of Odonis Odonis, Bernice, New Chance, Lightman Jarvis Ecstatic Band, shn shn, Tange, Merival, Ziibiwan and Orphx.
Two days of panels and workshops will offer cross-sector dialogue about sustaining DIY spaces between the local presenters and international policy makers and urban planners. Topics are set to include multi-space networked models, equitable trade routes, local resource-sharing platforms and more.
All of Together Apart — the conferences, concerts and art exhibits — is available to attend both in-person and virtually. Tickets for Night One (November 26) and Night Two (November 27) are on sale now.
Free conference registration for the international panels is open here, with limited sign-ups for in-person workshops also available by individual event here.
