Marta Cikojevic of Montreal synthpop quartet TOPS is reintroducing herself as Marci with a new solo project.
Marci's debut single "Entertainment" arrives today via Arbutus Records. Produced by bandmate David Carriere, the polished sophistication of the '80s-inspired, saxophone-kissed track shows the artist as a student of that classic, timeless pop sound.
"'Entertainment' is having fun flirting with life, with lust, or without purpose," Marci said of the song. "Its conception was uncomplicated — we took parts from a song that was proving difficult to finish, added some new ingredients and it came out like cake."
TOPS released their fourth full-length I Feel Alive in 2020 and shared latest single "Party Again" last summer.
