At long last, indie heroes Throwing Muses are readying a new album, marking their first in seven years. The record is titled Sun Racket, and it is expected out in May via Fire Records.
The band's Kristin Hersh made the reveal in her newly released newsletter, saying she and bandmates David Narcizo and Bernard George wrote the album's tracks in the studio back in 2019.
Sun Racket will mark the band's first full-length since 2013's Purgatory/Paradise and serve as Throwing Muses' 10th album overall.
And while Hersh gave no more details about Sun Racket, she did also reveal she is working on a memoir. It's titled Live Donuts, Bait and will arrive via UT Press. Hersh described the book as "alternately hilarious and heartbreaking," with the tome serving as the follow-up to her previous memoir, 2010's Rat Girl.
So far, there is no release date for the upcoming book, but Hersh said the book is currently in the editing stages.
