SSRIs released their album Effeminate Godzilla-Sized Windchimes back in 2010, but having rebranded themselves Sprïng, they are preparing to unleash their debut album under the new name. Celebrations is due out on March 4, but it's available to stream in full ahead of time on Exclaim.ca.
Celebrations is an album of extremes, as opener "To Accuse" shifts from frenzied prog-punk to tuneful art-pop within the first 15 seconds. Some ultra-noisy shred solos follow later in the song, and the rest of the album follows in suit with similarly diverse arrangements that touch on acoustic strumming, doom-filled soundscapes, twitchy complexity and jarring heaviness.
Stream Celebrations below and see Sprïng's upcoming Canadian tour schedule here. You can also pre-order the album here.
UPDATE: This stream was available for one week only and is no longer available.
