Snow Patrol Down Two Members, Drummer's Wife Hints at Drama

"It's been a fucker. Fucked by you know who."

If I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world? Check yes or no. But either way, you can't spend forever chasing cars — or so Snow Patrol seem to have learned, as two members of the long-running sad rockers have announced their departure from the band.

Much like the problems that plagued the drum machine-touting Jerk Offs in Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, Snow Patrol are now without a rhythm section. Last week, frontman Gary Lightbody shared the "sad news" that both drummer Jonny Quinn and bassist Paul "Pablo" Wilson "decided to leave Snow Patrol" to Instagram.

Lightbody went on to say that the band's three remaining members would continue on and release an album next year — the follow-up to 2018's Wildness, as well as paying tribute to Quinn and Wilson in their own separate, sentimental Instagram tribute posts. Wilson also wrote a message of his own on the band's account, expressing immense gratitude for the "incredible life" Snow Patrol has given him.

Quinn, who went to school with Lightbody, joined the band in 1997, while Wilson became Snow Patrol's official bassist in 2005 after playing as their touring guitarist for years beforehand.

But here's where things start to get a bit dramatic: although the frontman's homages to his departed bandmates seemed very sincere and as if everyone was on good terms, Quinn's wife Mariane responded to one of the comments in one of the farewell posts [via People], writing: "It's been a fucker. Fucked by you know who." Ominous!

According to the Belfast Telegram, Mariane posted about her husband leaving Snow Patrol on her own protected social media account, claiming that the terms of the split were "not the best." She reportedly thanked Lightbody and lead guitarist Nathan Connolly, but she seems to have purposely omitted Johnny McDaid, who joined the band in 2011. Is he... you know who?
