Last year it was revealed that Björk would be making her return to the big screen — her last major film appearance was in 2000's Lars Von Trier-directed Dancer in the Dark, a "cry 'till your stomach hurts" classic — in Robert Eggers' Icelandic epic The Northman.
Today sees the arrival of the film's first trailer, which features a brief glimpse of Björk as the Slav Witch. Judging by this first look, the movie is gonna be pretty immense and gloomy, and Björk's four-second cameo is fittingly dramatic.
The pop star appears in closeup, decked in a headdress made of wheat and whispering "remember for whom you shed your last teardrop."
The Northman was co-written by Eggers and Icelandic poetic and frequent Björk collaborator Sjón, and is described as "an epic revenge thriller, that explores how far a Viking prince will go to seek justice for his murdered father."
As previously reported, it also stars Willem Dafoe, Alexander Skårsgard, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicole Kidman and Ethan Hawke, all of whom appear in the trailer.
The Northman arrives in theatres on April 22, 2022.
