Seapony

Seapony make nice music: it's dreamy, affable and sonically pleasing. Lead singer Jen Weidl has a melted-candy sort of voice, sweet but not too sweet, and throughout the set she politely thanked the audience after almost every song. When the Seattle-based band crank it up, it's akin to a cat kneading your leg with its claws. The music is interesting, but the lyrics aren't, so that's a wash for now. If Seapony develop a more distinctive voice lyrically, this will push them to the next level. Right now they're the kind of band that when you see them on the bill opening up for a bigger act, you'll go early because they seem like good people and the music's nice, but you couldn't name a single song if you tried.
