Last we heard from Winnipeg's Sc Mira, they were delivering some festive Halloween cheer (or more accurately, a trick-or-treating PSA) with their Candy Apples and Razor Blades mixtape. Now, the recently expanded five-piece are ready to share a new video for latest single "Do Me," and Exclaim! has got the exclusive premiere.
The clip is a fun, puppet-filled affair, featuring celebrity appearances from the likes of Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Kimye — and some Tom Waits for good measure. Even the band members get their own puppet mini-me's, which get thrust into the spotlight of a miniature stage.
It's a charming accompaniment to the infectious indie pop tune, and you can check it out in the player below.
In a statement, the group's Sadye Cage said, "We approached the Procter Brothers with open minds. We wanted puppets and sex, and we wanted to point out the absurdity of our lyrics. The idea was to see the videos that are reenacted from a different perspective and really appreciate the awkwardness. Like watching a finger puppet spray whipped cream on itself. That's sexy."
The video arrives before the band's upcoming album Waiting Room Baby, which comes out on June 9 via Pipe & Hat/MapleMusic Recordings. Check out the album's Pledge Music campaign over here.
