Sc Mira

'Candy Apples and Razor Blades' (Halloween mixtape)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Oct 22, 2014

Winnipeg-based duo Sc Mira are prepping their Waiting Room Baby EP for release in 2015, but still managed to find time to celebrate the year's scariest holiday. They've unveiled a three-song Halloween mixtape and you can hear it first right here on Exclaim.ca.

Named after every parent's worst Halloween nightmare, Candy Apples and Razor Blades features a few covers of Paul Williams' Phantom of the Paradise songs ("Somebody Super Like You" and "Life at Last") and the band's take on the Misfits' "Halloween." There's also a medley of all three.

It's a perfectly spooky musical celebration and an appropriate project for bandmates Tyler Wagar and Sc, who actually met at a Halloween party. This year, they'll be spending October 31 on the road and you can see their upcoming shows below. In fact, they are even playing Toronto's Central venue tonight (October 22).

Don your best costume, grab a pumpkin ale and indulge in way too much candy before hitting play below — just be careful when bobbing for those apples.
