For the second year in a row, Patrick Watson managed to transform the Ukrainian Federation into a place of worship, albeit to no religion in particular. The Sunday afternoon cabaret-style event consisted of performances by a diverse cluster of artists, including Montreal's Sacred Harp singers, Katie Moore and a Jewish children's choir, in addition to organ music, fiddles and a sitar. If the purpose of the afternoon was to bring people together in the name of whatever religion they partake in, even if there isn't one, mission accomplished. It was nice to see Watson sit down at a piano and warble into his megaphone after a few years away, but the day had little to do with his resurfacing and much to do with a sincere appreciation for hymns of all kinds.
