Rancid and Dropkick Murphys Join Forces for "From Boston to Berkeley Tour"

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Mar 7, 2017

The history between Rancid and Dropkick Murphys is a long one, with the Celtic punks having signed to Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong's Hellcat Records in their early career. Now, the two bands are set to celebrate their history on the road together this summer.

On the "From Boston to Berkeley Tour," the two punk outfits will hit the road for a month, playing 24 dates in total. The first 12 will see support from the Bouncing Souls and Jake Burns, while the second 12 will feature the Selecter and Kevin Seconds.

The tour will come to Canada three times in total. On July 28, the bands will play Montreal's 77 before heading to Echo Beach in Toronto the following evening on July 29. A Vancouver date is also slated for August 15 at the UBC Thunderbird Arena.

"This is a dream come true for Dropkick Murphys," the band's bassist Ken Casey said in a statement. "Hopefully all the people coming to the shows will feel the same way. Rancid gave us our break — Tim signing us to his label, Lars producing our early albums...so much history and great memories. Now, literally sharing the stage together every night. This tour is going to destroy all others this summer!"

Tickets for most dates (except Montreal, Philadelphia, Nampa, San Luis Obispo, San Diego and Los Angeles) are on sale this Friday (March 10) at 10 a.m. local time. You can find them here.

Rancid's ninth studio album is expected out this year, while the Murphys are supporting their 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory that arrived earlier this year. Take in the entire tour itinerary below.
