The Queers

Joe Queer is nothing if not a character. He’s also a fine pop punk songwriter in the spirit of the Ramones with a little less Beach Boys and a little more GBH in his band’s sound. And when you consider the 20-plus members that have been in the band over the course of their 20-plus-year career, it’s easy to see that it really is his band. This first DVD from the group brings together music videos, live, interview and TV clips, and fight footage in one tight, hour-long package that will be savoured by any fan of the band’s particularly snotty brand of pop punk. While the audio could be better on some of the live clips, it all seems oddly appropriate for a band that have never sought to move beyond their stated goals of getting laid and travelling the world.
