Ozzy Osbourne will soon be making an animated appearance on underwater kids cartoon Bubble Guppies, trading in his duties as the Prince of Darkness to voice the role of a "rock and roll fish" named Sid Fishy.
An upcoming episode of the Nick Jr. program will have Osbourne voicing the character, which as you can see up above is a total trouble maker. Sporting a bright red mohawk and an eyebrow ring, spokespeople for the program have confirmed the punnily monikered punk sea creature will be heading to the show's home base of Bubbletucky to slather its residents with a "stink sauce."
"The green liquid is Sid Fishy's 'stink sauce' made up of different smells such as stinky socks and rotten eggs," a representative for the show told Rolling Stone. "He wants to use the stink sauce to cover Big Bubble City and all its citizens to make them stinky."
Osbourne's reasoning for taking on the role and supporting Sid Fishy's nefarious olfactory scheme is twofold. While he quipped that "I've always smelled a bit fishy," he also revealed that he signed up to do the cameo to please his granddaughter Pearl.
"The whole reason I did the show was for Pearl," Osbourne admitted. "She has Nick Jr. on 24/7. I can't wait to see her reaction when she hears my voice come from Sid Fishy's mouth."
An exact air date has not yet been revealed for Sid Fishy's debut, but it's expected to run sometime next year. Also coming up on the show is an episode featuring a guest appearance from RuPaul as a "charismatic snail that's part ringside boxing announcer and part fashionista."
This is not the only animated role Osbourne has tackled in recent years. In 2011, he voiced a fawn in the animated feature Gnomeo & Juliet and also played the Earth Troll in an episode of Disney's Fish Hooks. Perhaps most infamously, it was Osbourne (well, technically The Simpsons voice actor Dan Castellaneta) that appeared onstage to present the Simpsons a "best hardcore thrash metal" award for their danceable holiday hit "Simpsons Christmas Boogie."
