It's going to be a long, hot summer — that's climate change, baby! But for real, it's going to be even hotter in Toronto with Nelly celebrating the sweaty glory of throwback hip-hop and R&B by bringing his Hot in Herre festival to Downsview Park.
The man himself is obviously poised to headline (and take off all his clothes, probably) the June 24 event, which will also see performances from Ne-Yo, Akon, T.I., Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Keri Hilson, Ja Rule and Chingy.
Nelly aspires to make the festival a yearly tradition. "Toronto is one of my favourite cities to perform in, and the fact that I get to come back and bring all the people that came up with me in the industry means everything," the hitmaker said in a press release. "We have a lot of surprises in store for you, Toronto, and the Hot in Herre team can't wait for this summer."
Tickets are on sale now, with general admission prices starting at $170 and prices set to increase as the event draws nearer. Food trucks will be on site, and all attendees will have access to picnic tables, shaded areas and seating.
