Nardwuar the Human Serviette

vs. Leftover Crack

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 5, 2016

Leftover Crack's recent run of Canadian tour dates found the punk band playing Vancouver twice, leaving plenty of time for Nardwuar the Human Serviette to catch up with them for an interview. As you'd imagine, he gifted the group with a bounty of info and items.

Nardwuar first tries to stoke the conversation by giving vocalist Scott "Stza" Sturgeon a bobblehead of Wendy O. Williams, owing to the fact that he once wore a shirt with the Plasmatics singer on it. Sturgeon cops to being "blackout drunk" for a good chunk of times he wore the tee and reports that he eventually lost it. That said, he also ups the late icon for her animal rights vision and proficiency with a chainsaw.

Other topics brought up include the Subhumans (Canadian edition), hip-hop unit the Coup, New York punk history, and the time Stza had Ol' Dirty Bastard sign his New York welfare card. "It was the only time I've been tongue-tied," he recalls. "I still have it today. It's pretty special."

Sturgeon also reflected on how he never thought he'd make it into the country to be grilled by the Nard, meaning the chat was pretty special, through and through.
