He won't get what he wants this time

In Morrissey's world, everything needs to be about him. So of course he would take the opportunity to make the Oasis reunion about his famously feuding band the Smiths.

Taking to his website — as per usual — the disgraced frontman claimed in a statement that he and Johnny Marr received a "lucrative offer" to reunite for a 2025 tour. He wrote that he accepted, but that Marr ignored the request.

Always one to take not-so-subtle digs, Moz ended by saying he will play a "largely sold out" tour in November, while "Marr continues to tour as a special guest to New Order." Which isn't exactly true, considering Marr is going on a co-headlining tour with James this fall.

Marr is clearly disinterested in making amends with the far-right sympathizer. When a fan on Twitter suggested that if Oasis can make up, so can the Smiths, Marr replied only with a photo of certified knob Nigel Farage.

Though it seems like there's demand for a Smiths reunion, many fans — like Molly Rankin — are uninterested, as they've disavowed Morrissey despite their love for his band. It's a good thing for them that private listening sessions exist on Spotify.
