Electronic supergroup Moderat are set to issue their long-awaited II LP this summer, and the trio have now announced that they'll support the sophomore set with a global tour.
The trip starts up in London just ahead of the record's August 6 street date through Mute and will briefly head to our side of the pond by the end of the month. Three of the four North American stops are in the U.S., but Moderat have booked a Canadian gig at Montreal's Société Des Arts Technologies on September 1. You can see all the concert info down below.
As previously reported, Moderat comprises Modeselektor's Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary and Apparat's Sascha Ring, and II follows their 2009 self-titled debut.
In addition to the tour announcement, the band have just unveiled a stylish video for first single "Bad Kingdom," directed by Pfadfinderei. A press release explains that it's set around 1966, and "features a descendant of the English aristocracy who turns from being an ambitious young man into a ruthless power broker."
You can check out the politically loaded imagery, touching on issues of privilege, corruption and murder, beneath the tour schedule.
