Chilean-born, German-raised electronic musician Matias Aguayo has thrilled us over the years with his work as one-half of Closer Music, as well as his super minimalist but insanely catchy solo songs (see "Rollerskate" off Ay Ay Ay). Most recently, Aguayo lent his skills to experimental rock combo Battles on the disjointed yet hummable "Ice Cream," but the artist is now ready to get back to his own tunes via a new EP.
Longtime label Kompakt will issue the I Don't Smoke EP June 6 in the UK. A tracklisting has yet to pop up for the mini-set, but it's said to feature four songs pressed onto a twelve-inch, while two extra songs will be available as digital exclusives. You can sample the pulsing, tobacco-denying title cut below.
Thanks to XLR8R for the tip.
