If you know anything about Mac DeMarco, it's that he's a big Ryan Paris fan. The Italian singer's 1983 synthpop hit "Dolce Vita" particularly tickles DeMarco's fancy, which he's been vocal about for years, dating at least as far back as Pitchfork's 2014 Pepperoni Playboy documentary.

In 2016, Paris posted a video addressing DeMarco's praise and floated the idea of collaborating — and the Canadian musician responded with a video of his own, enthusiastically accepting the offer.

Now, seven years later, the collaboration has come to fruition with "Simply Paradise," a song which arrives alongside a video directed by Kiera McNally. It was filmed on an Italian beach at golden hour and features more than one pair of fingerless gloves.

DeMarco and 70-year-old Paris coo about their romantic intentions (and prowess) with R&B inflections, punctuated here and there by a sexy little "uh." The wisdom of Madonna even makes its way into the lyrics about how good their loving is.
