Watch Lucy Dacus and Her Dad Cover Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark"

In Springsteen's home state of New Jersey

New Jersey loves Bruce Springsteen. Bruce Springsteen loves New Jersey. Lucy Dacus's dad also loves Bruce Springsteen, and Lucy Dacus loves her dad. Those four obvious facts were made even more apparent at Dacus's Saturday night show in Ashbury Park, NJ, where she invited her dad on stage to play a cover of Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark."

Dacus has been on tour in support of last year's Home Video, and she's been performing most of those shows laying on a couch due to two herniated discs. However, toward the end of her performance of "Dancing in the Dark" — with her dad on guitar — Dacus got up and managed to dance around a bit. In the dark.

The performance happened at legendary Ashbury Park venue The Stone Pony, which just so happens to be where Springsteen met his wife Patti Scialfa in the early '80s.

Dacus first covered "Dancing in the Dark" back in 2019 for Springsteen's 70th birthday. In a statement, she wrote that her dad was "the biggest Bruce fan I know and the reason I've listened to the Boss since birth."

Most recently, Dacus released the single "Kissing Lessons," which was recorded during the Home video sessions.
