Lizzo performed at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena on Friday (October 7), and announced to the crowd that she's looking for marriage proposals so she can move to Canada.
At the first of two Canadian stops on The Special Tour, the singer told the crowd that "the weight of oppression is off of me," adding, "I love it here, Toronto."
She explained: "I feel like everyone in America got my motherfucking name in their motherfucking mouth for no motherfucking reason," possibly in response to Kanye West's comments about her weight in a recent interview with Tucker Carlson.
"I'm minding my fat Black beautiful business," Lizzo continued, before asking the crowd, "Can I stay here? Who can I marry for that dual citizenship?"
Just last month, fellow American Laura Jane Grace posted a similar request to her Twitter, asking for Canadian marriage proposals so she could relocate to Winnipeg, praising its "remoteness and the vibe of the people" and "brutal winters."
