Dark-pop adventurers Liars are offering up yet another video to support last year's Exclaim!-approved WIXIW, this time with a basketball-themed black and white clip for the title track.
The video, directed by Alex/2Tone, finds a long-haired baller making a number of unsuccessful dunk attempts. Several people stand nearby to peep the underperformer do his thing — including a dancing demon figure and Liars vocalist Angus Andrew in full-on convulsion mode — but by song's end their focus is elsewhere. Maybe they got swept up in the song's haunting, oscillated synthscape?
Alex/2Tone told Entertainment Weekly that the video is based on the Greek myth of eternal boulder-pusher Sisyphus "as told by a young ballplayer lost in a haze of codeine and prescription weed."
You can check it out for yourself down below.
