Legato Vipers Recruit Don Pyle for Debut EP, Book Canadian Dates with Monomyth

The members of Ontario's Legato Vipers have contributed to a host of different projects, and now they've teamed up release their debut EP. Quick Slug will drop on February 26, and the band will support it with a Canadian tour.

The act's lineup features guitarist Mike Brooks (Bry Webb & the Providers, Gregory Pepper & His Problems) and bassist Tyler Belluz (Del Bel, Chrome & the Ice Queen) joined by guitarist Jordan Howard (the Skeletones Four, Jim Guthrie Band) and drummers AJ Johnson (Cuff the Duke, Minotaurs) and Jay Anderson (Maylee Todd, Sandro Perri Band).

A press release describes their EP as "throwback '60s style instrumental surf rock," so it's only fitting that the band recruited Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet's Don Pyle as their producer.

Instead of a traditional physical format, the band are releasing Quick Slug as a digital accompaniment to merch products including a flask, a T-shirt or a switchblade-style comb. The entire EP can be streamed at the bottom of this page in advance of next month's release date. Go to Bandcamp to order the EP, or head to YouTube to watch some live performance videos.

Legato Vipers will promote the EP with a tour of Canada's eastern half in February and March. Following a number of Ontario dates, they will head east and link up with Monomyth in Atlantic Canada. Scroll past the tracklist to see the schedule.
