Sight Unseen is a newly launched crime drama that's currently in its first season on CTV in Canada (and the CW in the US). If you were looking for a reason to check out the show, here it is: the episode that aired last night (February 19) featured a Kiwi Jr. T-shirt as a major plot point.
The show's admittedly silly concept is that a blind detective, Tess (Dolly Lewis), uses an app to remotely collaborate with an agoraphobic visual guide, Sunny (Agam Darshi), who describes everything that happens. In the latest episode, Sunny informs Tess that the person she's speaking to is wearing a Kiwi Jr. T-shirt.
"Kiwi Jr. — what is that, hip-hop?" Tess asks. The character, Jewel (Jess McLeod), responds, "Indie. If the Strokes and Pavement had a baby while partying with the Velvet Underground."
This turns out to be a clue that comes full circle: later in the episode, Tess catches a character burying something behind a bush. Sunny says, "It's a Kiwi Jr. concert shirt. That's Jewel's favourite band... And it's covered in blood!"
Kiwi Jr. shared a clip of the episode to Instagram, hashtagging the post #coveredinblood. Watch it below and be forewarned — if you wear a Kiwi Jr. shirt, you might get murdered. If you're brave enough, the shirt is available from Bandcamp.
