Take a deep breath: Lamar's long-awaited follow-up is here

Five years after the release of his Pulitzer-winning masterpiece DAMN., Kendrick Lamar has finally returned today with his new album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, for which he has also announced a supporting world tour.

In collaboration with his own label pgLang, Aftermath, Interscope and Top Dawg Entertainment, the record is split into two volumes of nine tracks — including features from Portishead's Beth Gibbons, Summer Walker, Ghostface Killah, Thundercat, Baby Keem, Sampha and more.

Lamar announced his final project with Top Dawg Entertainment in August last year, when he launched the mysterious website Oklama with an allusive statement about his next body of work.

Earlier this week, the rapper unveiled the album artwork — an intimate bedroom scene shot by Rendell Medrano — and released "The Heart Part 5," the latest instalment in a long-running series, with an accompanying music video. The deepfake-filled video opened with a title card that read: "I am. All of us."

We've all got some healing to do.
