With less than a week to go until Mr. Morales & The Big Steppers, Kendrick Lamar has shared a video for his new single. Check out "The Heart Part 5" now.
The song takes Lamar's sound in a soulful direction, as the rapper spits bar after bar atop funky guitars, '70s strings and a relentless groove. In the accompanying video, Kendrick deepfakes himself to look like Kanye West, Will Smith, Jussie Smollett, Kobe Bryant, OJ Simpson and Nipsey Hussle. It was directed by Lamar himself along with Dave Free.
The song, produced by Beach Noise, is the latest in Lamar's running series of "The Heart" songs. "Part 4" dropped in 2017, shortly before that year's DAMN., and wasn't included on the album. It's not clear if "The Heart Part 5" will be on Mr. Morales & The Big Steppers.
