Ken Jennings Says Canada Should Put Nardwuar on Its Money

While the death of Queen Elizabeth II seems to have even noted anti-monarchists really sad about losing an icon of colonialism, releasing all grudges, or breaking their personal No-Morrissey rules, Ken Jennings has his mind on his money (and his money on his mind).

Ever the pragmatist, the all-time greatest Jeopardy! contestant and current co-host alongside Mayim Bialik is bravely considering the possibility of Canada not putting British monarch (and corgi adoptee?) Prince Charles on our infamous maple-scented Monopoly money. Jennings has suggested a highly favourable alternative to replace the newly deceased Queen on the backs of our coins: national treasure and journalistic legend Nardwuar.

The quizmaster shared his piping hot take on Twitter last night, quoting a tweet from Buzzfeed's Ivor Tossell that read: "If Canada opted not to put Charles on the coins, what would work instead? Do NOT say 'prime ministers' or you're getting diefendimes."

Jennings heard Tossell's "Doot doola" and answered, adding simply: "Narduwar [sic]."

While Jennings misspelled our friend in tartan's name, his heart was definitely in the right place — and the right place for Nardwuar is definitely in your wallet. (One can only assume any bills with his face on them would double as serviettes, right?)

As the highest-earning American gameshow contestant, Jennings certainly has skin in the game here. Sure, he doesn't live in Canada, but still!

Last month, Nardwuar shared new interviews with Harry Styles and Wet Leg.
