It's really hard not to compare Katie Tupper's voice to the "fields of butter" in her home province of Saskatchewan, as she once referenced on "How Can I Get Your Love?" Her instrument is one that possesses an all-encompassing richness, which has produced some viral TikTok covers that even impressed the likes of SZA and Joe Jonas.

Having the voice is one thing, but the neo-soul singer-songwriter also very much has the pen. Anchored by a liquid low-end groove and jazzy piano flourishes, her latest track, "JEANS (fall on my knees)," is a showcase of Tupper's exceptional ability to create and deliver a resonant, commanding chorus.

We all know the feeling of shards of schoolyard gravel imprinting itself into our palms and the sting of the wear in the knees of our jeans as we get back onto our feet. For Tupper, "JEANS (fall on my knees)" is a powerful refusal to continue stepping on herself for another, wrapped up in the glossy ribbon of a stirring mid-tempo chord progression.
