Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme's sons have had restraining orders filed against the singer on their behalf.
The orders, which allege verbal and physical abuse, asked that Homme be made to stay 100 yards away from his children, Orrin, 10, and Wolf, 5, as well as their dog. The requests were filed on behalf of the boys by their mother, Homme's former partner and Distillers bandleader, Brody Dalle.
UPDATE (9/10 3:20 p.m. ET): Per TMZ, Dalle's order requests have been denied by two separate judges, once in L.A., and again in Santa Monica.
UPDATE (9/10 10:22 p.m. ET): Regarding the allegations, Homme's lawyer, Susan Wiesner, issued the following statement to Rolling Stone: "The allegations made by Ms. Dalle against Mr. Homme are categorically false. In order to protect the children, we will not be making any further statements."
One week before Dalle attempted to file the orders, Homme's lawyers reportedly filed legal paperwork over Dalle's custody of their kids. The documents allege that Dalle "refuses to return [the children] to [Homme] for [his] custodial time, has withheld them from school and is non-responsive as to their whereabouts," as per RS.
The following contains potentially triggering material relating to child abuse and violence. If you believe you have experienced or witnessed a crime and are looking for support, consult the Canadian Resource Centre for Victims of Crime to find resources in your area.
As initially reported by TMZ, the orders filed on behalf of Homme's sons accuse their father of being physically and verbally abusive. The claims specify that Homme has grabbed one of his sons inappropriately; thrown objects at both boys; verbally and physically taunted them; and has driven drunk with both of them in the car.
Court hearings regarding the restraining order requests are currently scheduled for Monday, September 13.
Dalle and Homme have each previously filed restraining orders against one another following their divorce in 2019.
