Electronic whiz Joel Ford has lent his skills to a number of projects, from his work on the production side of the great Ejecta to his work as one half of Ford & Lopatin alongside Oneohtrix Point Never's Dan Lopatin. Today, the artist has announced plans to release a solo mini-album.
Called Fugitive, the LP features techno songs built on samples from classic action thrillers from the '80s and '90s.
While Fugitive doesn't have a release date just yet, the record is expected to drop early next year through Ford's own Driftless Recordings imprint.
There are some samples of Ford's new solo work floating around; he released "Connection To" as a stand-alone single earlier this year and has now premiered the new album track "Breathe."
The six-minute song sees Ford reteaming with his Ejecta partner in crime Leanne Macomber, who adds ethereal vocals to the synth- and bass-heavy banger.
Give "Breathe" a stream below, and stay tuned for more information on Fugitive as it becomes available.
