J.I.D Says J. Cole's Verse on "First Person Shooter" Is Better Than Drake's: "It Wasn't Even Close"

Tough love

If you fall among the ranks of hip-hop fans who were thoroughly unimpressed with Drake's latest offering For All the Dogs, you're not alone. The Exclaim! staff are with you — and, apparently, so is J.I.D.

Asked in an interview with the Associated Press who had the better verse between J. Cole and Drake on their duet "First Person Shooter," J.I.D didn't hesitate.

"I'ma go with J. Cole all day. It wasn't even close," he quipped. "We love Drake though, but... you know."

Now, it would be fair to point out that J.I.D might be a little biased, what with being signed to Cole's label Dreamville and all. But, the speed and brutality with which the rapper delivered his verdict could suggest that he really thinks Drake's verse sucked (again, he wouldn't be alone).

Drake and Cole were most recently seen together at Scotiabank Arena, where the latter gave a surprise performance for Drake's hometown crowd during the final shows of his It's All a Blur tour, so it seems like they're on each other's team at least.
