As previously reported, experimental jazz ensemble Jaga Jazzist are set to blast out some serious Starfire on their upcoming new LP. Ahead of its arrival, the album's "Oban" has been remixed by their fellow Norwegian Todd Terje.
The rework is nearly impossible to resist as Terje layers drums on top of one another to create some truly epic percussion. The song could get by on drums alone, but it gets even better as the cinematic strings slowly begin to envelope everything.
Listen to Terje's take on Jaga Jazzist below. The song will appear on a 12-inch "Oban" single, set to arrive on May 18 via Ninja Tune. Starfire, on the other hand, drops on June 1.
Tour dates:
06/18 San Francisco, CA - The Independent
06/20 New York - Webster Hall
06/21 Washington, DC - Black Cat
06/22 Philadelphia, PA - Union Transfer
06/23 Asheville, NC - New Mountain
06/24 Chicago, IL - Lincoln Hall
06/25 Rothbury, MI - Electric Forest
06/27 Calgary, AB - Sled Island
06/30 Ottawa, ON - Ottawa Jazz Festival
